The Portneuf Valley Audubon Society (Pocatello, Idaho) has supported Camas National Wildlife Refuge for decades, and was a major force in establishing the Friends of Camas NWR in 2010. PVAS has consistently supported Friends with physical and financial resources. The Board of PVAS outdid themselves at their May Board Meeting, and voted to donate $500 to help Friends achieve its 2014 education and conservation goals.
According to Barbara North, President of PVAS, “We have been supporters of the Refuge for decades because of the great birds to be observed, wildlife viewing opportunities, and educational potential. We enjoy visiting Camas NWR particularly in the spring for migration, but we can be found there watching birds during other seasons as well. We have also contributed equipment and labor to projects that would improve the habitat for both wildlife and visitors.
The PVAS is excited to help the Friends of Camas continue to move forward with the pavilion for educating the visitors to the Refuge, and other projects designated by the Friends of Camas Board and Refuge Manager. We wish to help others learn how dynamic this Refuge is!”
